Regarding the Furuba Reference
Recently, perhaps since the beginning of the comic, I have been told that the story line is surprisingly similar to Fruits Basket (Furuba). I have often replied nicely to many such comments on the originality of the plot with : "Yes, this manga is based off of Fruits Basket." and "Yes, I am unoriginal." However, I think that no matter where I place the warning about the unoriginal plot line (which has been warning #2 on the list since the dawn of comic existence), someone will always fail to read it and manage to comment : "Say, have you read Fruits Basket? Your comic's plot is just like it!" or "This comic is so unoriginal!"
I used to not mind these comments very much because I understand how someone can fail to read warnings, but now they are getting tiring. My lack originality leads me to believe that everyone may be reading the story hoping it will be like Furuba. Since I myself only saw the anime for the first season once, I do not know how the manga ends nor do I remember all the jokes from it. Only recently did I read the manga and realize many of my jokes were similar. I try and try to diverge from my previous obsession with Furuba, but I guess it's not working.
In the future, please note that I understand my manga is like Fruits Basket (yes, it's not just you.). I got the manga idea from Fruits Basket, but it is not my intention to follow the plot word for word (I don't even know how Furuba ends!). I am trying so hard for a more original story and saying my comic is like Furuba does not support me very much.
My apologies for the long rant. I do not hold grudges against the people who said the comic is unoriginal and Furuba-copied because it is completely true. However, please understand I am just a little frustrated that some people do read the warnings (it's understandable, but annoying nontheless). I appreciate all those who have taken the time from their schedule to read my comic, even with the used plot. Thank you all for reading!
